NEAR is a proof-of-stake blockchain built around ease of use: human-readable account names, sharding for scale, and the ability for apps to cover users' transaction fees. Its sharding design splits the network into parallel pieces that process transactions simultaneously. The project has more recently focused on AI-related infrastructure and chain abstraction.
