About Litecoin
Litecoin launched in 2011 as one of the earliest Bitcoin forks, with faster blocks and a different mining algorithm. Its supply cap is four times Bitcoin's, and like Bitcoin it halves issuance periodically. The project has historically served as a testing ground for changes later adopted elsewhere, and is used mainly for payments and transfers.
