About Ethereum Classic
Ethereum Classic is the continuation of the original Ethereum chain after the 2016 hard fork that reversed the DAO hack. Its community rejected that intervention on the grounds that the ledger should be immutable regardless of outcome. It kept proof-of-work when Ethereum moved to proof-of-stake.
