About Cardano
Cardano is a proof-of-stake blockchain developed with an unusually formal, research-led process — most protocol changes go through peer-reviewed papers before implementation. It separates settlement from computation across two layers and uses an extended UTXO accounting model rather than Ethereum-style accounts. Smart contracts are written in Plutus, based on Haskell. Development is deliberate and slower than most competing chains.
